Ad-Hoc Committee for Recruitment and Retention
As part of the strategic planning process in August 2009 it was decided that an ad-hoc committee,
chaired by KAAAV vice president Jennifer Sawyer, should be struck to investigate
KAAAV membership promotion, recruitment and retention
At the September 2009 regular membership meeting volunteers for the committee were recruited
and the first meeting took place on October 13.

It was decided to:
~
contact other AVAs
and compare their membership and services with those of KAAAV,

~ and also to
survey local volunteer managers
(both KAAAV members and non-members)
for feedback on their characteristics and their membership choices

The committee felt that two different surveys would be useful:

one of current KAAAV members and their characteristics
~ to see how they had come to join KAAAV
~ to see why they continued to belonong to KAAAV
~ to get their feedback on the usefulness of KAAAAV's services

and

one of local volunteer resource managers who do not currently belong to KAAAV
~ to get an idea of their characteristcs
~ to see if they are aware of KAAAV
~ to see if they have ever belonged to KAAAV
~ to get their feedback on barriers to KAAAV membership

Committee Members:
