I would first like to thank each of you for taking the time off from work, to assist with the preliminary planning day. This is the first step towards developing a strategic plan. The plan itself will be developed by a Strategic Planning Committee.
KAAAV has been in existence since 1985. It started with 18 members and worked under the direction of what was then called “the Volunteer Bureau”. As we are all aware, KAAAV has been growing rapidly. We have 50 members, a bursary fund, and Committee members have been called upon to do more work.
The enclosed package includes an Agenda, list of participants and some worksheets. Some samples of the kinds of ideas we are looking for can be found on the critical issues/brainstorming worksheet. Please take a moment to think about some topics, and be as specific as you can.
Some members will be here for the whole day and others for either the morning or afternoon session. We might need to take about 10-15 minutes for each topic, but some discussions might be a bit longer. I will be keeping a close eye on the time, so we can cover as much as possible to allow for everyone’s feedback.
